North Korea, the Labor Party Congress is the most important political event and the highest decision-making body.

It has

not

been

held

for the past five years,

but there are observations that the 8th Party Congress could start as early as today (4th).

<Reporter> After the

first weekend of the New Year, there is a possibility that the 8th Labor Party Congress in North Korea will begin.

Ahead of the convention, representatives from all over the country have already gathered in Pyongyang.

The North Korean media, including the Nodong Shinmun, are also raising the atmosphere by praising the party's achievements and building internal solidarity.

This party conference is the second party conference in 5 years after the 7th conference held in May 2016, and after Chairman Kim Jong-un took office.

Earlier, Chairman Kim visited Geumsusan Solar Palace with representatives at dawn on the 1st and released a new year's card he had written himself.

Following last year, there was no New Year's address for fostering Chairman Kim.

North Korea has not responded much since the US presidential election, but this party conference is expected to break the silence.

North Korea previously announced that it will pose a series of important issues at this party conference, and many observers say that not only economic issues but also policies toward the US and South Korea will be revealed.

The key is whether North Korea is conscious of the Biden government and proceeds to create a sense of tension or continues its situation management mode.
