Abu Dhabi Pensions: The Pensions Law will not apply to the military who are covered by the Fund's services

Khalaf Al-Hammadi: "A new strategy for retired military services based on specialized studies."

The Abu Dhabi Retirement Fund confirmed that the provisions and articles of Law No. 2 of 2000 regarding civil retirement pensions and benefits for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, will not be applied to military retirees who are covered by the fund's services, pointing out that the legislation on military retirement will remain as it is without any change.

The fund stressed that the decision to transfer the military retirement services sector to the fund will not affect the mechanism or timing of the payment of pensions for the military, as well as the settlement of pensions, which continue with the same previous mechanism, noting that it has actually started providing its services to all military retirees through the private customer happiness centers. In the Fund, as well as service centers for retired soldiers available in the various emirates of the country, in addition to the government platform "Tamm" and the Abu Dhabi government contact center.

He pointed out that all information on military retirement services and ways to obtain them have become available on the fund’s website and all its other digital channels.

The fund explained that the transfer of the military retirement services sector to it was not accompanied by any change in the legislation related to the sector, but it gave the fund only the responsibility of supervising, managing and developing the work system, so that its role is limited to the mechanism of providing services and improving them, proposing a strategic plan and developing a general policy, in addition to adopting policies and regulations. And the decisions governing it.

The Director General of the Abu Dhabi Retirement Fund, Khalaf Al Hammadi, confirmed that assigning the military retirement services sector to the fund reflects the government's keenness to take care of retirees in all their categories, and to provide advanced retirement services for military and civilian retirees through unified channels.

Al-Hammadi pointed out that the fund took proactive measures before starting to provide its services to military retirees, along with retirees registered with the fund.

He said, "The fund has begun to develop a new strategy for the service of retired military personnel based on specialized studies, as well as formulating a general policy for this sector, in accordance with the latest and highest international standards in the field of retirement services, which will positively affect the type and quality of the service provided."
