12 December 2020 An anomalous number of requests, also from subjects who were not previously employed in the sports sector, led the Guardia di Finanza to start in-depth investigations on the applications for the bonus to sports collaborators.
As the first step of the investigation, all the documentation relating to the applications submitted by the applicants was requested and Sport and Health made all the material collected available.
The attention of Fiamme Gialle would be focusing in particular on the new applications for the November bonus (extended to December), in consideration of the very high number of requests (over 50 thousand), most of which made by people who would not be have never previously worked in the sports field neither in 2020 nor in 2019. Sport and Health has in any case provided the material relating to all the beneficiaries, who are currently about 117,000 and have received over half a billion in total since March, and also to those whose questions are still 'under scrutiny'.
Sport and Health, in addition to materially disbursing the transfers to the beneficiaries, has taken care of and still takes care of the collection, management and control of applications, which sometimes, even for anti-fraud purposes, takes time.
The company emphasizes that, in order not to lack support for the sports system, the applications without errors and with complete documentation were immediately accepted for payment, which took place within the established terms and often in advance.
In the case of Inps, or applicants who had also applied for refreshments to the National Insurance Institute, Sport and Health, before proceeding with the payment, they asked the State Attorney for an opinion.
For other cases, each applicant is asked to pay the necessary supplements.
"There is an obligation to verify the veracity of the data declared", recalled today the Minister for Youth Policies and Sport, Vincenzo Spadafora, responding on Facebook.
"Sport and Health - declared Spadafora. Should have guaranteed greater efficiency and organization, but it must also be said that it was not a simple job. But now the important thing is to solve the problems, overcome the impasse in which the company objectively is found, prove to be able to carry out the necessary checks ", concluded the minister.
