The Russian Ministry of Defense, as part of the state defense order for 2020, has received automated fire control systems for artillery units 1В181 and 1В198 produced by VNII "Signal".

This was reported by the High-Precision Complexes holding of the Rostec state corporation.

“The shipment was made in full and on time.

The contract is long-term, we plan to continue working according to the delivery schedule, ”said Vladimir Pimenov, General Director of VNII Signal.

Rostec also noted that these complexes are designed to provide automated fire control and maneuvering for an artillery battalion up to four batteries and up to eight guns in each battery.

"Signal" is used for self-propelled artillery installations "Msta-S", "Msta-B", multiple launch rocket systems "Tornado-G" and "Grad".

"The use of automation equipment of the complexes allows you to perform firing tasks with an arbitrary arrangement of guns in a given area of firing positions, to perform an anti-fire maneuver, in the shortest time hitting the target sequentially from two or more firing positions," Rostec quotes the words of the General Director of the High Precision Complexes holding Alexandra Denisova.

The corporation stressed that when using complexes, the accuracy of artillery fire can be increased by 30%, and when using guided projectiles of a new generation, the probability of hitting a target is 0.98-0.99.

“In fact, these systems make it possible to turn conventional cannon artillery into high-precision weapons capable of effectively destroying any types of targets,” added Alexander Denisov.

Command complex

The development of the 1В197 and 1В198 complexes has been carried out since 2007 as part of the Kanonada development work.

In 2016, Vladimir Shashok, who at that time held the post of General Director of Signal, noted that these complexes “ensure the opening of fire at a target reconnoitered and spotted by means of a subunit when deployed into battle formation on the move for no more than four minutes, and when the subunit's firepower is found at prepared firing positions - no more than 40 seconds. “Previously, these tasks took tens of minutes.

The use of automation equipment of the complexes allows you to perform firing missions with an arbitrary arrangement of guns in a given area of firing positions, to perform an anti-fire maneuver, in the shortest time hitting a target in succession from two or more firing positions, "Shashok said.

The 1В181 and 1В198 complexes demonstrate the greatest efficiency when controlling self-propelled guns and MLRS combat vehicles.

Their use makes it possible to ensure a continuous process of fire control from the moment a target is detected to pointing all guns at it in an automatic mode.

The complexes include 1В1003 command and observation vehicles based on the BTR-80 and 1В1004 command and staff vehicles based on the Ural trucks.

Up to four artillery batteries of up to eight guns of various types in each can deploy fire weapons over an area of 1.5 by 1.5 km, while full automation of fire control will be provided.

The range of optical reconnaissance means during daylight hours is up to 10 km, and at night - up to 5 km for detection, and 3.5 km for target recognition.

The range of communication and data transmission through ultra-short-wave channels is up to 20 km, and over wire lines up to 10 km.

The average error in determining the coordinates is up to 10 m.

"Performing tasks efficiently"

VNII Signal notes that the 1V181 and 1V198 complexes demonstrate combat effectiveness in several directions at once.

Thus, the reduction of the time for its preparation for work by 1.5-2 times in comparison with the existing analogs ensures the timely fire of the artillery battalion.

Thanks to modern means of shooting preparation and new algorithms for solving special problems, the accuracy of fire is significantly increased.

At the same time, the use of covert and coded fire control at all stages from preparation to the end of firing allows for sudden strikes.

Due to the software and technical implementation of simultaneous firing on different trajectories, the fire density increases by 10-20%, and the use of new methods of hitting targets increases the firing efficiency by 15-20%.

As military expert Yuri Knutov noted in a conversation with RT, in the future, such complexes will allow artillery batteries to be fully integrated into a single system for controlling the situation on the battlefield.

“UAVs and satellites will have to find the enemy and transmit his coordinates to a similar artillery gun that will hit the target by 100%.

Such automated control systems make it possible to quickly solve assigned fire missions, ”Knutov says.

According to him, with the use of such technologies, the effectiveness of artillery guns increases many times over.

“Such complexes increase the effectiveness of artillery troops, thanks to them the accuracy and effectiveness of fire increases dramatically, as a result of which the use of ammunition for the destruction of one target is reduced, and also there are opportunities for maneuver, which the artillerymen must perform within five minutes after the salvo was fired. ", - Knutov explained.

Yuri Knutov added that such systems also monitor whether enemy fire was returned, the amount and type of ammunition and other factors on the battlefield.

In an interview with RT, the editor-in-chief of the Arsenal of the Fatherland magazine, Viktor Murakhovsky, also emphasized that such complexes would significantly increase the effectiveness of the artillery troops.

“Such systems provide both support for decision-making by the command on the use of certain types of firepower, in particular artillery, and help to perform other design tasks, for example, the technical support of missiles and ammunition.

They can significantly reduce combat control cycles.

Such a factor as outstripping the enemy with the combat control cycle, maneuvering by troops, strikes, artillery fire of the rocket forces means laying a solid foundation for victory, effective execution of tasks, ”the expert said.
