- Through this we can estimate what speed the vehicles had and also the point of collision.

It helps us to determine who was on the wrong side, says Andreas Gabrielsson, head of the preliminary investigation at the traffic unit in police area west.

After the fatal accident in August where two cars collided head-on near Slättåkra in Halmstad municipality, the police started doing a digital reconstruction.

With the help of a computer program, parameters such as vehicle, tire type, surface and so on are compiled.

Waiting for cause of death

Anders Gabrielsson does not want to go into what the reconstruction shows because it will be used in interrogation with the suspect.

And before that, only one thing is missing.

- We are still waiting for the final autopsy protocols with the exact causes of death from Forensic Medicine.

Denies the fatal crash

Two people, a woman in her 50s and a five-year-old girl died in the accident.

Later it turned out that the man who drove one of the cars was under the influence of alcohol and did not have a driver's license.

The suspect, who is in his 50s, admits drunk driving and illegal driving.

But he denies gross negligence to another's death, gross negligence to bodily harm and gross negligence in traffic.

- My hope is that we can hold the final interrogation before Christmas, says Andreas Gabrielsson.
