The North Korean leader appears in public for the first time in a month

South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported yesterday that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un appeared in public for the first time in about a month, amid continuous speculation about his health.

The agency said that Kim chaired, the day before yesterday, the meeting of the Labor Party's political bureau, which discussed "the issue of further tightening the emergency system to combat the epidemic", amid the outbreak of the emerging corona virus (Covid-19).

According to Yonhap Agency, this is Kim's first public appearance since the third week last October, when he reportedly visited a cemetery in southern Pyongyang.

Usually, North Korea's state media announces Kim's activity a day after it occurs.

In another context, "Yonhap" stated that North Korea appears to be keen on any reaction to the results of the US presidential elections. North Korean media outlets did not refer to those elections or publish any reports on their results or send any messages to Washington.
