According to him, Ukraine will join the EU sanctions against representatives of the current government of Belarus, but a decision on restrictions on Lukshaenko has not yet been made. 

“As for the sanctions that have already been introduced, we will join them,” he said.

Speaking about sanctions against the President of Belarus, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry pointed out that Kiev has an algorithm for this case.

“As for any new sanctions, we are acting according to an agreed algorithm, that is, first the European Union adopts the sanctions, and then we will consider the possibility of joining them,” Kuleba said.

Earlier, the foreign ministers of the EU countries agreed on the introduction of sanctions against Lukashenka if the situation in the republic does not improve.

On September 29, Great Britain and Canada imposed sanctions against the President of Belarus, his son Viktor and a number of Belarusian security officials.
