The cumulative number of global cases has exceeded 37 million, of which 48% of confirmed cases and 55% of deaths are from the Americas. The United States, Brazil and Argentina are the countries with the largest number of new cases in this region.

  The number of new cases in the European region last week increased by 34% compared to the previous week, while the number of new deaths in the African region increased significantly, 27% more than the previous week.

The number of new confirmed cases and new deaths in Southeast Asia continued to decline last week, mainly due to the decline in the number of reported cases in India and Bangladesh.

The number of new confirmed cases and the number of new deaths in the Eastern Mediterranean Region and Western Pacific Region continued to rise.

The countries with the highest number of reported cases in the past seven days are: India, the United States, Brazil, the United Kingdom and France.
