Malaysian dentist Gao GuusTech surprised users of TikTok when he revealed how much toothpaste should be used each time to brush teeth.

Dr. Gao, a graduate of King's University in London, said that anyone over the age of three needs an amount of toothpaste that does not exceed a pea, while children under the age of three years need an amount of toothpaste smaller than a pea.

Dr. Gao stressed that the amount of toothpaste they put in commercial advertisements is very large and added, explaining, "Children may face the risk of swallowing large quantities of fluoride," noting that large quantities of this substance can be harmful to young children, whose permanent teeth have not yet appeared .

"This is because fluoride, when used in large quantities, can cause staining in the developing teeth," said Dr. Gao.

They range from yellow to brown stains that are visible on the teeth. ”

Dr. Gao noted that it is not surprising that people do not know the correct way to care for their teeth, because they do not consider dental health as an important part of their overall health.

He added, "A good example of this is that if people notice blood coming out from one part of their body, they rush to go to the doctor, but if they notice blood coming out of their gums, they don't care."
