The Paris Bourse was moving around the equilibrium on Tuesday, falling 0.12% after being down all morning, the day after a strong rebound.

At 1:00 p.m., the CAC 40 index fell 5.69 points to 4,837.58 points.

On Monday, he had gained 2.40%.

"Despite some positive day-to-day developments, investors still lack clarity over the long term," said Pierre Veyret, technical analyst at Activ'Trades.

At issue, the health uncertainties around Covid-19, the spread of which continues to spread in Europe.

The effects of restrictive measures on economic life are still being scrutinized.

Just like the Parisian place, the main European places made up a little of their losses at the start of the session but remained in the red at midday.

However, "monetary and fiscal stimuli as well as" hopes of other stimuli "help" keep stocks afloat, "said Stephen Innes, analyst at AxiCorp.

The market still clings to the hopes of a plan to support the economy in the US Congress, while dialogue resumes between Republicans and Democrats.

But in the context of the presidential election, an agreement, expected since the end of July, seems unlikely.

The electoral competition between US President Donald Trump and his challenger Joe Biden will further intensify after their first debate on Tuesday.

"It will especially be the performance of Joe Biden who will be scrutinized with interest," said Tangi le Liboux, analyst for broker Aurel BGC.

US markets remained cautious before this event, with the Dow Jones and Nasdaq both falling 0.05% in futures.

Before the debate, investors will take note of household confidence in the United States.

In France, it stabilized in September, and confidence in the future financial situation exceeded the long-term average for the first time since February.
