  • For several months, a man forced his partner to live in the attic without eating.

  • This father and his "second wife", who also had a supervisory role, were sentenced Monday by the court in Le Mans.

A few years ago, he had imposed on his companion to live several months locked in the attic, deprived of food.

Monday, in Le Mans, a man was sentenced to five years in prison, half of which suspended, for having kidnapped her and inflicted acts of violence on her.

“The duration of the famine was long.

I didn't even have the right to bread, nothing!

The victim, 46, said Monday at the bar.

She was married in 2003 to the defendant, Mohammed O., with whom she had four children.

Quickly, he cut him off from his social and family ties, the couple living in Saint-Calais in the Sarthe countryside.

In 2014, this mother had a panic attack when she left school.

Transported to the hospital in Le Mans, she denounces rape and violence on the part of her husband, then begins divorce proceedings, before returning home and withdrawing her complaint.

A child brought him bread

For several months, the victim has to live in the attic - while her husband sleeps with his new partner in the bedroom - and is deprived of food.

"There was a padlock on the kitchen door so that she could not access food," reports the president of the court Monique Legrand.

A child of the couple explained to investigators that he sometimes brought bread to the attic to prevent his mother from having to do the trash.

The victim was able to throw little words out the window and one of them was found by a neighbor in July 2016. But it was ultimately only an intervention by the gendarmes in November that put an end to his ordeal.

“They saved me,” she said.

The "second wife", who also had a supervisory role, was sentenced to eighteen months in prison, including twelve suspended sentences, according to the verdict rendered on Monday.
