The fire is said to have started after riots broke out when several residents tested positive for covid-19, but it is still unclear exactly what caused it.

The camp on the Greek island of Lesbos is Europe's largest refugee camp and officially has a capacity of 3,000 people.

But today, it is estimated that about 13,000 people live in the camp, which has grown significantly since 2015.
