This was stated in an interview with RIA Novosti by the South Korean ambassador to Russia Lee Sok Bae.

"The Republic of Korea hopes that President Putin's visit to our country will take place during this year, and through diplomatic channels, our states are conducting close consultations on organizing this visit," the ambassador said.

The diplomat added that the specific dates of the visit can be determined taking into account the development of the sanitary and epidemic situation and depending on the schedules of the leaders of the two countries.

In June, Russia discussed with representatives of the countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) the prospects for cooperation after the end of the coronavirus pandemic.
