It was at 13.30 on Friday that the bear was last seen. It had then been shot in connection with the ongoing bear hunt, where a permit was issued on behalf of Värmland County to shoot a total of three bears.

However, the bear was never shot to death at the time, but is now drifting around in the forest instead - injured and angry.

- It is far out in the woods, and this is very difficult terrain in this area where it is located, says Lars Hedelin, press spokesperson at the Bergslagen police region, and continues:

- But the Nordvärmlandsleden trail goes through there, and there may be some tourists in the area.

"Do not want any people in the area"

Against this background, the police chose to issue a warning for the angry bear on Friday night. The hiking trail should not be walked at all at the moment, according to the police.

- It must not be the case that people think this is exciting. We absolutely do not want to get any people to this area.

The area where the bear is sought is east of Höljes, and has been limited to Södra Havsjön in the northwest, the northern end of Örsjön in the northeast, Örsjöberget in the southeast and Kvarnsjödammen in the southwest.

Early on Saturday morning, the hunt for the bear in the area resumes, when hunters and police are expected to go out again.

- It is dangerous and it is of course upset, says Lars Hedelin.
