“The Federal Security Service together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the framework of a criminal case under Part 1.1 of Art. 205.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Assistance to terrorist activities") suppressed the activities of members of a terrorist cell from among the natives of one of the Central Asian republics involved in financing the international terrorist organization "Islamic State" banned in Russia, the FSB public relations center said.

They are also checked for involvement in the propaganda of terrorism and the recruitment of Russian citizens into terrorist structures.

It is noted that these persons planned to commit the murders of military personnel and law enforcement officers, after which they intended to leave for the territory of the Middle East region.

Earlier it was reported that in Khimki near Moscow, officers of the Russian law enforcement agencies liquidated a member of an international terrorist organization while attempting to arrest him.
