332 deputies voted for Shevchenko’s appointment with the required minimum of 226 votes.
On July 1, the head of the NBU, Yakov Smoly, submitted to the president a letter of resignation of his own free will, explaining his decision by the fact that for a long time the NBU has been under "systematic political pressure".
Also, employees of the National Bank of Ukraine said that certain deputies of the Verkhovna Rada exerted political pressure on the NBU team.
