“Safronov, fulfilling the tasks of one of the NATO special services, collected and handed over to its representative information about military-technical cooperation, defense and security of the Russian Federation, which is state secret,” the FSB reports to TASS.
Earlier, the press service of Roscosmos reported that the investigating authorities had detained the adviser to the general director of the state corporation, Ivan Safronov.
He was charged under article 275 of the Criminal Code of Russia (High Treason).
The "Roskosmos" said that the detention of Safronov is not related to his current activities in the state corporation, where he has been working since May 2020. Previously, Safronov worked as a correspondent in the newspapers Kommersant and Vedomosti.
