Two restaurants in Stockholm are forced to close with immediate effect because they do not live up to the requirements to keep the distance between the guests in order to prevent the spread of corona. It is about Neverland in Söderhallarna and Café Ragazzi on Drottninggatan.

Infectious protection Stockholm makes the assessment, both with regard to Neverland and Café Ragazzi, that the respective operations "have not taken adequate measures".

"Your business does not meet the requirements that exist"

In the decision to close Café Ragazzi, Smittskydd Stockholm writes:

“The infection control physician therefore judges, on the basis of documentation from the Environmental Management in the City of Stockholm, that your activities do not meet the requirements that have been, and have been communicated to you, on the basis of the regulations issued by the Public Health Authority to prevent the spread of infection in restaurants. Therefore, the Infectious Disease Doctor has decided on immediate closure. The decision can be appealed in writing. "

According to Smittskydd Stockholm, one of the problems was that the guests sat down at tables that were crossed and that the staff did not point this out to them. The lines on the floor to avoid queuing would also need to be clarified.

According to Smittskydd Stockholm report, guests at Café Ragazzi were allowed to "also use crossed tables, both indoors and in the outdoor dining". This has led to too much congestion. Photo: Smittskydd Stockholm

In total, 21 restaurants were forced to close in Stockholm as the owners did not comply with the recommendations of the Public Health Authority, according to Svenska Dagbladet. 19 have been allowed to open again. To a large extent, restaurants in the City of Stockholm have been closed for infection protection reasons. But also two restaurants in Sollentuna, one in Sigtuna and one in Södertälje have been closed.
