As the Minister noted, first of all, the internal borders of the EU will be opened, and only then all the rest, Yle reports.

According to her, the government is “monitoring the situation” and plans at the EU level to consider which third countries can be allowed to enter the Schengen zone.

“First we will open the internal borders, then we will move on to the so-called third countries. In this matter, Russia is undoubtedly the third country that will be one of the last to be opened for tourism, ”she said.

As noted, the situation on the western border can also not be called rosy: from the commune of Yallivaara in Swedish Lapland it is reported that the virus is spreading uncontrollably.

Earlier, The New York Times wrote that EU authorities may maintain a ban on entry for residents of Russia, the United States and Brazil due to the situation with COVID-19.

As the Russian ambassador to Belgium Alexander Tokovinin noted, Russia is unlikely to be included in the list of countries for which EU states will open their borders on July 1.

Russian leader Vladimir Putin emphasized that Russia adequately responded to the threat of an epidemic of coronavirus infection.
