Large-scale NATO military exercises Nordic Response have started near the borders of Russia. They will take place in the northern regions of Finland, Norway and Sweden.
The maneuvers will involve 20 thousand military personnel from more than ten countries, about 50 ships, and at least 100 aircraft. The Russian Foreign Ministry has already stated that these exercises are demonstratively provocative in nature and increase the risk of military incidents. According to experts, through such maneuvers, the alliance wants to put its northern flank on alert, practice the transfer of American troops to Europe.
