The crimes for which the man is convicted have been ongoing since 2010, when the limitation period for the crimes is deducted, but the investigation shows, however, that the man has been active longer than that.

According to the judgment, the man had at least 6424 films and 66 983 photographs with child pornographic material. He has also been featured in various forums that disseminate the material to others. His role, the large amount of material and the extent of the coarse material make the crime serious.

Revealed on strike

The man was revealed when police made a strike in February. It could then be stated that the man was connected to pages containing such material as the prosecution applies.

Police found over two million files in the man. Given the scope of the material, only a brief review of the majority of the files has been done, while only a small portion of the files have been thoroughly examined. Against this background, the district court considers it beyond reasonable doubt that at least one million of the files contain material with child pornography.

Five years in prison

The man is convicted of gross child pornography offenses and unlawful depiction of violence.

- The most criminal offense is the gross child pornography crime. The district court has decided that the prison sentence should be set at five years, says councilor Louise Hinsegård.
