[HIGHLIGHTS] Trial in Austria: Son tortured in dog crate – mother has to go to prison for 20 years

Mother, 33, sentenced to 20 years in prison for torturing her son, 12. A 40-year-old accomplice was sentenced to 14 years.

Both women must jointly pay the boy a total of 80,000 euros in compensation. Judge: Child is “psychologically destroyed” by the actions of the mother and her accomplice. The mother said she wanted to raise her allegedly aggressive and rebellious son to be a well-behaved child, but she denied the intention to kill.
