The Women and Child Protection Foundation in Ajman managed to save the life of a 10-year-old Arab child who was constantly beaten by his stepfather with various tools (iron parts, sticks, and electric wires), leaving him with injuries and severe marks in his body parts with the knowledge of his mother, which led the institution to house him Even solving his case.
The foundation received a notification from an employee working with the child's mother, that there is a child who needs help after being constantly beaten by his stepfather with the knowledge of his mother, who abandoned him without any convincing reason to pay for that.
The Foundation confirmed that it immediately moved after receiving the communication to find out the situation, as it was found that the child was subjected to various injuries and was not assisted and had signs of assault from his stepfather, and his mother did not object, for fear that he would leave her and divorce her.
Sheikha Azza bint Rashid Al Nuaimi, head of the Foundation for the Protection of Women and Children in Ajman, told «Emirates Today» that the foundation summoned the child and the mother’s colleague to work, and heard the story from them, and it became clear that the child’s behavior was normal inside the house, but the mother was taking her child with her to her work place On a daily basis, and when her colleagues were asked about the reason for his coming with her and not going to school, she replied that she had no one to care for her.
She added that one of the mother's colleagues working while the child was with her approached him and noticed that he had traces of bruises and torture, and when asked about her he refused to respond and felt afraid, she asked the mother about the cause of the signs, so she told her that her husband was torturing and beating him constantly without reason, so she offered her to take the child with her to her home, The mother agreed to the offer and abandoned it easily, pointing out that the mother's colleague bought new clothes for the child, and provided him with housing and food with her children until she contacted the institution.
She added that the mother’s colleague took refuge in the institution, and informed her about the situation of the child, who is continuously battered and subjected to abuse and deprivation, and he had to move a specialized social team from the institution and summoned the mother’s colleague with the child and hear his story, and provide adequate accommodation for him until he solved his problem.
And she showed that a specialized medical team examined the child to confirm his condition, and it became clear that his body was full of signs because of the severe beating and failure to help him, including a blow to the head with an iron piece that left a great impact on his failure to help him, and after talking with the child, it was found that he lives with his mother and husband in one house due to circumstances His mother was forced to do so, and he fled home twice due to the violence and abuse he was experiencing.
She stated that during her conversation with the child, it became clear to his mother’s knowledge of the abuse, insult and violence he is exposed to by her husband and by depriving him of food and clothes appropriate to his age, because of his threat to her and her fear of it, as the child does not know what the reason was hitting for him, noting that the child confirmed that His stepfather used to scold him constantly because of a cat he was raising his stepfather and beating him with electrical wires, iron and wood parts.
She added that the institution contacted the mother and her husband, to summon them to the headquarters of the institution, and when confronted with what they actually denied at the beginning that the child was subjected to abuse, beatings and abuse, noting that the husband had many arguments about the cause of the beating such as sabotaging property and hitting his cats, not responding to it and hearing his mother's words inside Home, and other unconvincing reasons.
She indicated that the mother admitted her mistake after many attempts to deny her and defend her husband, and remove the charge from him, as she confirmed that she would address the matter, stressing that the husband and mother were given a certain period to re-register the child in school to ensure his regular education like the rest of the children, and complete his identification documents.

The Women and Child Protection Foundation in Ajman confirmed that it is working to resolve the issue amicably in order to maintain family cohesion, as it took a pledge from his stepfather and his mother not to subject them to the child and repeat the matter, noting that the child now lives in the institution's shelter center until his conditions are modified, enrolled in school and completed His identification documents, indicating that he is receiving good treatment, and all the necessary and basic supplies are provided to enjoy a decent life like the rest of the children.
