The head of the Department of Labor Risks Department of the Government Delegation in Madrid has declared to the Civil Guard that the 8-M protests should never have taken place. RMR, who explained to the Armed Institute that he is dedicated to carrying out "preventive planning" in the government agency, assured that "as a pharmacist and with some training in the healthcare environment, this demonstration should not have taken place." Likewise, he specified that "obviously, since many people are concentrated and having contact with each other, the probability of contagion increases." For this reason, he added, to questions from the Civil Guard, that he was surprised that the Government Delegation authorized the gatherings to celebrate International Women's Day and that, "without being an authority on the matter, they should not have been authorized."

This head of the Service added that during the start of the pandemic, the workers of the Government Delegation asked him for information about the "measures and recommendations related to social distance, personal hygiene or treatment of citizens" and that, in general, the staff was "aware" of the seriousness of the situation. "Taking into account all the sources of information (unions, official sources such as the Prevention Service itself and the media) at the beginning of March (the employees) were fully aware, since in addition, the Delegation itself asked questions to the Prevention Service related to the Covid-19 ".

In turn, he explained to the Judicial Police that he is investigating the authorization of 8-M by government authorities, which the Government Delegation has already made available to its workers action protocols to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. "The unions themselves and the secretary-general himself urged something to be done within the framework of Covid-19, so the Occupational Risk Prevention Service was launched and began to obtain information from the World Health Organization (WHO) and a protocol was developed. " "This protocol was reviewed by the secretary general and he transferred it to the director of Health for review and knowledge." The distribution of the same was carried out, according to this head of Service, on March 2, although the first version of it dates from February 28.
