"The price is falling ... We are increasing domestic production, and the cost of the mask is much lower than that brought from China .. I am sure ... in the end, it will be much lower than now," the deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade said on air TV channel "Russia 24".

He also admitted that the price of medical masks could return to 5-7 rubles, which were before the pandemic, after the lifting of restrictions.

“Of course, when the pandemic ends ... the price of the mask will return to this value, because there simply will be no demand for it,” Yevtukhov said in response to a corresponding question.

Earlier, he said that in Russia about 4 million medical masks are sold through pharmacies, large retail chains and small retail stores per day.
