The Head of the League of Arab States Mission in Rome and the Vatican, Ambassador Enas Makkawi, valued the humanitarian role played by the United Arab Emirates, especially in light of the outbreak of the Corona virus, and its efforts to send aid to countries experiencing economic crises and suffered more after the outbreak of this virus or suffering from a shortage of Medical and health materials needed to cope with the epidemic.
In a statement to Emirates News Agency on the occasion of the Zayed Day for Humanitarian Action, which falls on 19 Ramadan each year, McCawy said that the UAE was at the forefront of the countries that responded to the initiative launched by the Arab Ambassadors Council in Rome under the name of the Arab Initiative for Solidarity with Italy , As I arrived from the Emirates in solidarity with the campaign, an aid plane and it was loaded with equipment, medicines, first aid and medical needs. The hospitals in Italy were at the time most in need.
She added that the UAE, since its establishment until now, is following this approach set by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and support for the noble human values established by the forgiven, and the values of giving and altruism and doing good.
Mekkawi explained that the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan is a symbol of humanitarian action because of his initiatives to serve humanity.
She noted that the UAE has become a global model to be followed in humanity, compassion and solidarity in order to protect human beings wherever it is and has registered a path to follow in the field of humanitarian and development work.
