May 09, 2020Start the first weekend of Phase 2 and the chances of using the private car to get around increase.

But be careful of the rules to follow, first of all to avoid contagion as much as possible, and then also to avoid the penalties provided for those who violate the rules dictated by the Dpcm of 26 April.

Distances to be maintained
The Decree indicates how to keep the distance and requires that the central seat of each row of seats is kept free (on common cars the rear three-seater row), unless there is only one passenger in a row, who can also sit in the center seat, provided that there is at least one meter away from the driver or another passenger sitting forward or behind.

Mask always or almost
The mask is mandatory in all those cases where it is not possible to maintain the distance of at least one meter between people, even in the car. The mask must always be worn (unless there is only the driver in the passenger compartment), even in cases where the passenger compartment is so spacious as to allow occupants to be more than a meter away and it is at least advisable to avoid sitting on a place adjacent to one already occupied.

Even in motorbike the mask is mandatory if you are traveling with passengers. With the full-face helmet, however, you can do without wearing it if you keep the visor closed, while with jets it is mandatory.

Where you can go
It is possible to use the car or motorbike to reach the open commercial activities, including those assigned to vehicle maintenance and washing. You can take your personal car to get away from your home and do outdoor sports, for example to approach a park, provided within the limits of your region (except for more stringent regional regulations).

It is not allowed to use the car (or motorbike) for walks without a precise destination justified by the cases foreseen by the DCMP and the use of the car to reach the second houses is not allowed. Some variations are established at the regional level, and it is always advisable to consult the regional regulations before getting into the car for various reasons. Self-

certification to bring with you Self-
certification is always mandatory, and those who leave home must be justified by an updated version, while those who go to work can do without them, but they must have another document such as a card or authorization from the employer of work.
