“Invasion foiled” in Venezuela: 2 Americans indicted, Silvercorp at the heart of the case

In Venezuela, the opposition led by Juan Guaidó is more than ever embarrassed. A Washington Post investigation reveals that several relatives of Guaidó have signed a $ 213 million contract with the American company SilverCorp. It was this company that sponsored the failed sea intrusion attempt on May 3, which led to the deaths of eight people and the arrest of 31 others, including two North Americans.

The Washington Post revelations throw the opposition to the heart of a case it would have done well. At the start of the week, Juan Guaidó's team assured that they had never had contact with Jordan Goudreau, boss of Silvercorp USA. Except that the investigation of the American newspaper proves not only that members of the opposition did indeed sign a gigantic contract in October 2019 with the American security company, but in addition that Juan Guaidó was aware of it.

A shame, for the Minister of Communication of Venezuela Jorge Rodriguez: "  How human beings could be able to sign a paper which orders the assassination of the president of the Republic, which orders the assassination of the majority of the military high command and senior politicians of the Bolivarian Revolution, who orders that the Bolivarian armed forces submit to foreign soldiers like Jordan Goudreau ? How is it possible ?  "

What is certain is that the opposition did not go through with the operation. Worried about Jordan Goudreau's methods, she put an end to the discussions in November. This did not prevent the former soldier from continuing the operation and claiming today from the opposition $ 1.5 million that she should have paid him in advance.
