Soon summer - then the snow rained down in Ludvika

During the night it has snowed heavily in different parts of Dalarna, mainly in the areas around Ludvika.

- We have an area with snow showers and locally there can be heavy rainfall. But it's not really barking really, not in Dalarna, says Tora Tomasdottir.

Despite the snowfall, the emergency services have not had to move out.

- We haven't had any snow-related calls, so far. The snow should continue during the day as well. The snow remains on the ground, but on the roads it has melted away, says Johan Wahrén, internal commander of the rescue service.

How long will it be snowing in Dalarna really?

- We cannot rule out that it will come again. There will be some finer weather this week, but there may be some snowfall locally even then. And this weekend there is a risk of more snow, says Tora Tomasdottir, SVT's meteorologist.

- It's May, not June. Try to think of April weather so you won't be as disappointed. And enjoy when it's warmer and possible, she continues.

SMHI has not issued any warning about the snowfall, however, warning of fire risk.

- The snow disappears quickly and the grass underneath is dry and super-flammable, says Tomasdottir.
