Usually, hospital clowns Mikael “Mike” Lovestedt and Martin “KaBom” Ibohm visit the pediatric clinics at the hospitals in both Kronoberg, Blekinge and Kalmar counties. But in mid-March, it was decided that the regular clowns of the hospital clowns would be paused to minimize the risk of spreading the corona virus.

Larger audience online

A few weeks ago, the hospital clowns instead broadcast a performance of the week on social media, which has attracted a much larger audience than they are used to in the county's hospitals.

- At first you see that there may be some thirty watching it live, but then the clip is saved and when you look next time it is three thousand who have seen it and it is very funny, says Mikael Lovestedt.

- It's always better to do it live out in the hospitals, but since the circumstances are as they are, this is a great thing to do right now, says Mikael Lovestedt.

Reach out through the screen

The hospital visits are paused until the summer, but the two hospital clowns hope to be able to visit the county children's hospital again in the autumn. However, this does not mean that live broadcasts on social media will stop.

- This is a good complement right now and maybe something we can continue with even after the pandemic, for example to reach children who are cared for at home, says Martin Ibohm.
