At a complete stop since mid-March due to the coronavirus, the professional tennis circuit could resume with "regional tournaments", estimated Tuesday the world N.1 Novak Djokovic on social networks.

"I think there will be more regional tournaments with prizes. I think that's what's going to happen very soon," said the Serb in a live Instagram post with Fabio Fognini.

"All countries will have their own model for breaking out of confinement and it will be difficult to restart our circuit because it takes place every week in a different country!" Said Djokovic.

"So I think there will be more regional tournaments with prizes, but probably no points (ATP) at the moment," he repeated.

"For me, as a simple player, it will be really very difficult to replay this year," said Fognini, who last year at that time raised his first Masters 1000 trophy in Monte Carlo.

"You, you come from Serbia where the confinement will be lifted on May 20, but in Spain it will be June 25 ... it's still difficult to pretend to replay in tournaments", illustrated the Italian who does not want to no longer resolve to player in camera.

"Can you imagine a Grand Slam final without anyone in the stands?", He called out to his colleague.

World tennis has been at a standstill since early March and at least until mid-July, after notably the postponement of Roland-Garros in the fall and the historic cancellation of Wimbledon.
