In the face of the "hidden enemy" of the emerging coronavirus, US President Donald Trump has announced a "temporary suspension" of immigration to the United States, in order to "protect Americans" jobs and the country's economy, hardest hit by the global epidemic that has killed 170,000 people.

While Corona's deaths in Britain showed that they are 40% higher than the preliminary data, Spain said that the number of deaths increased by 430 cases during the past 24 hours.

In detail, Trump wrote in a tweet: “In light of the enemy’s hidden attack, and in light of the need to protect the jobs of our great American citizens, I will sign an executive order to temporarily suspend immigration to the United States!”

He did not give the US President a candidate for re-election in November 2020, which is one of the highlights of his campaign, which is the reduction of immigration, any detail on how he intends to implement this measure, and how long it will be. But he might sign a decree in this direction, according to the Washington Post.

Trump's announcement about immigration comes at a time when oil prices witnessed a historic collapse, and the price of a barrel for May delivery reached below zero for the first time in history, as a result of a sharp drop in demand, and the storage capacity of American facilities nearing fullness.

Corona, the newcomer, which Trump calls a "hidden enemy", has claimed more than 42,000 people in the United States, with nearly 766,660 injuries recorded, and 22 million Americans lost their jobs due to the epidemic.

Since its appearance in December in central China, the Covid-19 epidemic has killed 170,000 people worldwide, according to a census based on official sources. China managed to contain the disease, which then hit Europe, where two-thirds of the world's deaths were recorded, and now the United States.

In Europe, several countries, first Germany, followed by Austria, Norway, and Denmark, started to ease isolation measures while preserving "social divergence" measures.

France, Spain and Italy, the three countries most affected by the epidemic on the European continent, are preparing to take the first measures to lift the isolation, in the coming days and weeks.

In Paris, researchers said in a study published yesterday that less than 6% of the French population is likely to have been infected with the Corona virus by the time of the gradual lifting of the closure procedures, starting May 11 next.

This comes as encouraging signs are emerging in some countries, as the number of patients fell Monday for the first time in Italy.

Data showed yesterday that the actual number of deaths in Britain due to Covid-19 disease, as of April 10th, is more than 40% higher than the outcome of the daily figures announced by the government. It recorded 449 deaths on Monday, the lowest daily toll since April 6.

On the other hand, yesterday, Spain recorded 430 deaths from the newly created Corona virus in 24 hours, a slight increase compared to 399 deaths, recorded on Monday as announced by the Ministry of Health.

In Brussels, the Crisis Management Cell of the Ministry of Public Health and the National Security Council in Belgium announced that the number of deaths in the country as a result of the new Corona epidemic (Covid-19) is now close to 6000, and reached 5998 cases.

In Switzerland, the public health agency said yesterday that the number of deaths due to the emerging coronavirus in the country rose to 1187 from 1142.

The health authorities in the Netherlands said that confirmed cases of the new corona virus increased by 729 cases, to reach a total of 34,134 yesterday, with 165 new deaths recorded.

For its part, Russia announced, yesterday, the registration of 5642 new infections with the new Corona virus, during the past 24 hours.

And in Tehran, the Iranian Ministry of Health announced yesterday, that the number of deaths caused by the Corona virus in the country rose to 5297, after recording 88 new deaths, during the past 24 hours. In the Chinese city of Wuhan, life slowly resumes, even if a full return to normalcy will not happen immediately, in the city which has been isolated from the outside world for 76 days, and its isolation lifted on April 8th.

Corona deaths in Britain may be 40% higher than the preliminary data.
