The number of new infections with the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19) has decreased again, as yesterday, China recorded 16 new cases of the virus, and no deaths were recorded, while the authorities remained cautious about the possibility of a strong resurgence of the disease, and continued to monitor the situation in Heilongjiang Province Northeast.

Yesterday, the country's National Health Committee issued a memorandum requesting the development of capabilities for examinations and their quality throughout the country. Commission data showed that nine of the new cases in China were from people who came from abroad.

The total number of confirmed cases of "corona" in the mainland of China reached 82,735 cases, while the total number of deaths due to the virus reached 4,632 deaths.

Northeast China's Heilongjiang province has seen a rise in the number of injured travelers coming from Russia over the past few weeks, and is now striving to contain a jump in the number of domestic injuries.

Heilongjiang recorded 39 new domestic cases in the past 10 days, that is, more than 50% of the 73 new domestic cases recorded on the mainland during the same period, which number 73, and most of the injuries are related to a case of infection from abroad in Harbin, the provincial capital.

To help contain the disease, the Heilongjiang government advised on its website to avoid family gatherings, and warned of infection in hospitals, and the slow transmission of investigation reports related to the spread of the disease.

All regions in the central Hubei region, including Wuhan, where the disease first appeared, are now considered low risk areas.

In its call to improve testing mechanisms, the National Health Committee said that all major public hospitals need to have analysis laboratories that meet certain criteria, and can conduct "corona" checks independently.
