The Russian battle tank on the Armata platform was tested in Syria. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov in the program "Actors with Naila Asker-zade" on the channel "Russia-1".

Manturov emphasized that the tank regularly undergoes a series of additional tests and upgrades.

“This (tests in the ATS. - RT ), firstly, significantly affects the fact that all the nuances in combat conditions are taken into account: in Syria, as you know, this is exactly the kind of test that’s why we took into account all the nuances in order to the final appearance, which will be delivered to Syria, all these moments were reflected, ”the minister said.

In addition, he added that Russia received preliminary applications for the export of “Almaty”. However, it will be possible to send the tank abroad only after the start of serial deliveries to the troops and the receipt of an export appearance passport.

Recall, the Ministry of Defense signed a contract for the purchase of 132 combat vehicles T-14 and T-15 (BMP) on the Armata platform, it should be implemented before the end of 2021.

“Armata tank is a combat vehicle that has no analogues in the world ... It’s expensive also because it undergoes a series of additional tests and upgrades, because the Ministry of Defense ordered additional technical solutions in order to reach serial production with next year under the contract that was signed, ”RIA Novosti quoted Manturov as saying.

Recall that in February the T-14 tank on the Armata platform reached the final stage of testing. This was announced at DefExpo India 2020 by an official representative of the tank development company, the Uralvagonzavod concern.

He specified that a new ammunition is being developed specifically for the tank.

In addition, in April 2019, the head of the team of specialists of the Uralvagonzavod corporation Mikhail Begman said that the T-14 Armata received an anti-slip coating, which also improves its disguise.

In 2019, it was reported that the latest guns for the tank on the Armata platform were being developed. As noted in the material of the Third Central Research Institute of the Russian Ministry of Defense in the thematic collection “Missile-technical and artillery-technical support of the Armed Forces of Russia-2018”, the armament of Russian tanks was built on the basis of a 125-mm smoothbore gun, which has undergone a number of changes over the past 40 years, aimed to improve its performance characteristics.

“At present, the development of a gun of increased energy intensity for the promising Armata tank is underway,” the article said.

The main feature of the tank is that it is equipped with an uninhabited tower, that is, the crew is in another part of the vehicle, military expert Alexei Leonkov noted in a conversation with RT.

“The gunners, the commander, the driver are in a special capsule, which is located in the tank’s body, and the tower is deserted. All the turret’s equipment: a tank control system, an electronic computer system, a weapon loading system, an engine - all this is controlled from an armored capsule electronically, through a computer, ”he explained.

The tank is also equipped with modern means of communication, allowing the tank to operate in a single tactical link, receiving up-to-date information about what is happening on the battlefield from other vehicles, aircraft, satellites and the central command post.

“This is a new word in tank building, a breakthrough, not a single country has such a tank. It’s necessary to master it, and we will master it, it passes tests and enters the army, a series of tanks should be next year, ”the expert added.

In turn, a military expert, retired colonel Viktor Litovkin emphasized that the T-14 Armata is the next generation of main battle tanks. He also paid special attention to the design of the machine, in particular, the placement of the crew in a separate compartment.

“The main difference of the tank is that for the first time since World War II, the crew is in a separate armored fighting compartment, an armored capsule, the engine is in another, also armored compartment ... In this regard, not only the tactical and technical characteristics are improved, but also increased crew survivability and tank survivability, ”he said.

The expert added that only after the Ministry of Defense approves the export version of the tank, which in its tactical and technical characteristics differs from the sample supplied to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, it will be possible to talk about its export.
