April 18, 2020 "We are thinking about the creation of an Italian platform that allows us to offer the paid Italian culture to the whole world, a sort of Netflix of culture, which can be used in this emergency phase to offer cultural content with another method, but I am convinced that the online offer will continue even afterwards: for example, there will be those who want to follow the premiere of La Scala in the theater and those who prefer to do so, paying, staying at home ". This was announced by the Minister of Cultural Heritage and Tourism, Dario Franceschini, who spoke tonight on 'Waiting for the words', the program conducted by Massimo Gramellini on Rai3.

In these lockdown weeks, added the minister, "the enormous potential of the web for the dissemination of cultural content has been fully understood, there has been an explosion of creativity", and this is precisely the starting point for developing a more structured project.

The government, added Franceschini, is committed to "doing everything possible because all sectors of culture start again: but if it is easy to imagine reopening a museum respecting security measures, distances, sanitizing environments, it is more difficult instead think of events that take place in crowded places, such as concerts, cinemas and theaters. Sectors for which we will have to agree with the scientific and technical committee how to allow them to reopen ". "It is difficult now to say what the times will be, we can only say that we will do everything possible", reiterated the minister, answering Gramellini's questions. "What is certain - he said again - is that it will be necessary to adapt, it is not that normality comes suddenly, there will be a long phase of returning to normality in which to live with precautions and safety measures".

"Incentives for business-families, there will be holidays"
"Tourism is 13% of GDP and therefore the sector must be absolutely saved" Franceschini said, "we must work hard on internal and proximity tourism, we want to give serious incentives to companies that deal with tourism and also give incentives to families with medium-low incomes to go on holiday in Italy. They will be Italian holidays "concluded the Minister for Cultural Heritage Dario Franceschini.
