The Department of Health in Abu Dhabi revealed the training of 1,000 nurses, the creation of a remote training mechanism, and the use of residency program physicians in Abu Dhabi’s educational hospitals to participate with first-class doctors in hospitals and practice as doctors, in addition to allowing doctors of excellence programs to participate under the same umbrella and under the name of a physician assistant, Within the framework of its precautionary plans aimed at ensuring the health sector's continued response to the spread of the "Covid-19" virus, with the same degree of professionalism and commitment.

The department explained to «Emirates Today» that it started working in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) to train 1,000 nurses during this period, in order to enhance the efficiency of nurses in the field of health care and to improve them, and three categories of training have been identified, which are training programs, Theoretical, practical, and proven, its continuous endeavor to attract talent to work in the health sector in the emirate.

She emphasized that it had introduced a new mechanism in the field of training through the adoption of distance training for the nursing class, to ensure their safety in conjunction with the current conditions, in addition to the replacement of distance training programs for existing training programs, and acceptance of programs for the second category of programs.

The department pointed out that health professionals are exempt from the requirement of CME hours during this period, and with regard to doctors and their training, it was agreed to take advantage and benefit from doctors of residency programs in Abu Dhabi educational hospitals, to participate with first-grade doctors in hospitals and practice as doctors, in addition to Allowing franchise program doctors to participate under the same umbrella and in the name of Doctor’s Assistant.

She pointed out that all health professionals can apply for licensing applications on the electronic system of the Health Department through a licensed health facility, and applications will be reviewed and temporary licenses issued if four basic conditions for obtaining the license are met, which include obtaining academic certificates according to the unified regulations for licensing health professionals. He has practiced the profession during the last five years, and has obtained the registration or license to practice the profession, in addition to his good conduct and behavior.

She explained that any health professional has the right to apply for a temporary license from the Department of Health, provided that the minimum requirements and requirements for the license are met, and that the basic requirements are only dealt with for licensing health professionals, and doctors and nurses from outside the emirate can apply on the platform of the «Manpower Management System Health in Abu Dhabi », where all technical categories are doctors, nurses, pharmacists, laboratory technicians, and other supportive medical professions as the target groups for the platform.

Volunteering and part-time work

The Department of Health Abu Dhabi has called on health care providers and cadres who wish to work or volunteer, whether through full or part time to support medical cadres, to register in the new free health workforce management system in Abu Dhabi, in case they have sufficient time and efficiency.

The Abu Dhabi Health Department has identified a number of categories that can register in the portal and volunteer, including full or part-time workers in a clinic or hospital in the region, and they have time to work overtime, who have a certificate of eligibility or have passed the Health Department exam in the past, and workers who have completed procedures "Data Flow" or those holding a license from the Dubai Health Authority or the Ministry of Health, retired health workers who want to return to practice the profession, and volunteers who are licensed or qualified to work in the health care sector, and who wish to obtain a license to practice the profession in Abu Dhabi.
