The UAE, in cooperation with the World Health Organization, has sent a plane carrying 33 tons of medical supplies to Ethiopia to help about 33,000 medical workers. The shipment included 15 tons provided by the UAE to Ethiopia, about three tons provided by the state to the African Union, and 15 tons provided From the World Health Organization to support Ethiopia and other African countries in tackling the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19).

This initiative comes within the framework of the UAE’s cooperation with a number of countries to enhance global efforts to reduce the spread of the virus.

“The UAE is committed to a humanitarian approach that supports emergency relief in the countries that need it,” said Mohammed Salem Al-Rashdi, the UAE’s ambassador to Ethiopia.
