by Tiziana Di Giovannandrea 23 March 2020 A new ordinance has been signed by the President of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Stefano Bonaccini, which introduces a further tightening to prevent contagions in the province of Piacenza. The ordinance is effective from March 24 until April 3 .

Economic activities have been suspended, excluding essential ones or those that guarantee limited contacts between people. Measures to ensure containment and social distancing have been strengthened, starting with the ban on any gathering with more than two people.

The suspension of economic activities expands the reach of the Prime Ministerial Decree adopted on March 22 by the Government.

Those who remain open will have to stick to a very strict protocol to keep their distance. Closed professional offices, parks and cemeteries and local public transport remodeled. Production activities related to the food chain, supermarkets, newsagents, pharmacies, mechanics and plumbers are excluded from the ban .

Specific measures are foreseen for logistics , a sector that represents a very important part of the economy of Piacenza: the activities can continue only with the management of goods whose reception or shipment is connected to activities or supply chains concerning essential goods included in Annex 1 of the Dpcm March 11. Further spacing measures for worker safety apply to logistics, such as the division of activities over several shifts and the staggering of canteen services and break times.

Only essential economic activities and those that will guarantee strict internal security measures to prevent contagion will continue. The measure, reads in a note from the Region, was shared by the mayors of the province and the Prefect of Piacenza, gathered in two video conferences with the Region.
