It was on Christmas Eve 2019 that police were alerted to a villa in Kungsbacka. A woman then stated that she had been threatened. The police left the scene, but received another alarm two hours later. The woman had been murdered, and the man who then called the police was arrested and arrested for murder.

A preliminary investigation into suspected service failure was initiated during the night, but it has now been closed down. Bengt Åsbäck, Deputy Prosecutor, says the police did not act wrong. They must have stubbornly asked the woman if the man was threatening, and also searched her cellphone for threatening sms.

- I don't think these two policemen have failed in any respect. They've done it right. That's my assessment, says Bengt Åsbäck to GT.

The man suspected of the murder is in custody, and prosecution is expected to come sometime this spring.
