- Yesterday we received information that we are expected to work from home for two weeks. So yesterday went to plan the work in the coming weeks and make sure that the most necessary came home, says Martin Köhler.

What is the most difficult thing about working from home?

- That you cannot spontaneously tune in or ask questions to colleagues. Sure there are mail and phone, but some questions are easier to take "face to face", says Martin Köhler.

"Will miss the coffee snack"

So far, homework has worked relatively well, but in the long run it can be stressful, he says.

- After a few working days, I will miss lunches with colleagues and coffee, says Martin Köhler.

At the same time, he is well aware that the measure is important.

- If it can delay the spread of infection and hopefully make sure that those who really have to work inside SMHI are not infected, it is an easy thing to contribute, a few weeks of homework is not a big thing to add if opportunity is available.

SMHI has decided that as many of the authority's employees as possible should work remotely. The decision is valid from March 20 through April 5.

- The purpose is to help reduce the spread of covid-19 transmission in society in general and to protect our own socially important activities, says AnnaKarin Norberg, communicator at SMHI.

Some employees with key functions still work in the premises

She also says that some key functions continue to work in the premises, such as a number of employees who work with forecasts and warnings, as well as certain IT functions.
