The citizen Hamad Hussain Al Shamsi rescued seven Iranian sailors from drowning, after their merchant boat capsized and crashed into the sea, last week, and Al Shamsi came on a fishing trip 40 kilometers from the coast of the Emirate of Sharjah, so he witnessed the accident and succeeded in saving them.

Al-Shamsi told Emirates Today: “I went on a fishing trip last week, off the coast of the Emirate of Sharjah, and while driving the boat I saw goods, cartons and wood floating on the surface of the sea, which surprised me, and I started looking for its source.” He added: "After a few minutes, I saw a person swimming in the sea, holding a piece of wood, and I went quickly to him, and it became clear from his language that he was Iranian, and I realized that the boat belonged to Iranian sailors working in transporting goods from Dubai to Iran by sea."

He continued: «I gave the sailor a life jacket to save himself, and asked me to take him by boat, but I asked him to wait a little, because I saw two people sitting on top of the balls, so I went to check on them, and asked me to search for two of the older sailors, who were with them in the boat, and they feared being exposed To sink. ”

Al-Shamsi said: “I rescued the two elderly sailors, carried them with me in the boat, and informed me of the presence of two other missing persons at sea. Another journey began to search for them. I found them attached to some goods for fear of drowning, I rescued them, and transported them all in the boat.”

He added, “The sailors’ health condition was good, except for two of them. One of them suffered a fracture or a crack in one of his hands, and the other was suffering a bruise in his neck. ». Al Shamsi indicated that the Coast Guard came to the site, and took the seven sailors to their boat, and provided them with the necessary assistance and first aid, and transported them to land, following that the boat was carrying large quantities of goods, which are refrigerators, cartons, and wood that exceeded its carrying capacity, and the seven sailors were They sat on the boat, because there was no empty place for them, which caused the boat to lose its balance, and tilted to its side, and things started to fall, and the sailors fell into the sea.

The Coast Guard provided the first aid to seafarers and took them to land.
