The Sharjah Criminal Court heard a case in which an Arab youth was accused of assaulting a public official while carrying out his official duties, as he beat a police officer during his arrest and attempted to escape.

The details of the incident are due to a notification that a person of the nationality of an Arab country is suspected to be wanted in connection with drug abuse cases, and therefore the security teams specialized in drug control moved to the site of the communication, and during the process of seizing him, he tried to escape, and when the policeman was able to confirm him, he beat him, He sustained injuries, after which security forces were able to control and arrest the accused, and refer him to court for trial.

The court faced the accused with the charges attributed to him, and he denied them, and said that he did not beat the policeman, but rather he who struck him, indicating that he had a drug and abuse case pending in the Sharjah misdemeanor court.

He added that he is taking narcotic pills because of his illness, which he is suffering from, demanding that the cameras that were in the place of the incident be unloaded to ensure that his words are correct, and to bring the victim who is the victim to confront him.

The Public Prosecution requested the conviction of the accused, while the court decided to postpone the case until March 23 to summon the victim and hear his statements.
