Thai Japanese men infected with new virus March 15 4:28
The Thai Ministry of Health on Tuesday announced that a 33-year-old Japanese man living in Thailand had been confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus. In Thailand, about 80 people have been infected so far, but this is the first time that a Japanese person has been infected.
The man lives in Thailand with his Thai wife and his mother, but his wife's mother who had been visiting Japan returned to Thailand on 4th of this month and had symptoms such as fever. The same symptom appeared from the 9th.
The Thai Ministry of Health estimates that his wife's mother became infected in Japan and spread to men after returning to Thailand.
The Thai Ministry of Health also said that a 20-year-old Thai woman who returned from Japan last month was confirmed to have been infected with the new coronavirus.
The Thai government is calling for a 14-day stay at home or in a hotel to monitor health, even if the condition is not unusual for travelers from Japan.
