On March 13, the Maldives health department said that a foreign citizen in the country had a positive test for New Crown virus. At present, 11 close contacts have been tracked and isolated.
As of now, there are 9 confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia in the Maldives, all of which are foreign citizens.
On March 12, the Maldives announced a 30-day "public health emergency."
