March 12, 2020 In the province of Moscow, near the Yakimovo village, there is a monument to a couple who died in a car accident. The relatives did not want to welcome the couple's dog, who remained "orphaned". The animal has not since left the accident site, presiding over the funeral monument. The people of a nearby village bring him food and have built a warm shelter for him; a few years ago another bastard dog joined Hachikō, keeping him company.

Hachikō is wary of men and, when he sees them approaching, he barks and walks away, then returns to his garrison. According to trainers, non-purebred dogs are more loyal to owners than purebred dogs.
