The reorganization plan, we read in a press release from the Boiron laboratory, concerns the French part of some 3,700 employees who account for the group worldwide. This plan aims to perpetuate the company, explains the management of Boiron, and to secure its future as well as that of the employees who remain.

The elimination of a quarter of French posts, or more than 600 jobs in total, was accompanied by a new organization of the sales teams. With 134 new positions in particular.

This is the direct consequence of the reimbursement of homeopathic medicines decided by the Ministry of Health in 2019 after a long controversy between pro and anti-homeopathic doctors. A petition has even gathered more than a million signatures in favor of maintaining the reimbursement. At the time, the group said the ministry's decision would threaten 1,000 jobs in France.

In 2019, Boiron's turnover stood at 557 million euros. An 8% drop in sales, even though the reimbursement had not yet taken place.
