The new Corona virus continues to spread around the world, as new infections were recorded in many countries today, Saturday, most notably Iran, which recorded more than a thousand new cases in one day.

In China, the global spread center of Corona, a hotel used as a quarantine for people living with HIV in east China's Fujian Province collapsed today, and local media said about seventy people were trapped in the rubble of the collapsed hotel.

According to the local government statement, the Shangya Hotel in Quanzhou City collapsed around 19:30 local time (11:30 GMT) and about 23 people were rescued about an hour and a half after the accident.

The number of newly infected Coronaviruses (Covid 19) has exceeded the 100,000 mark worldwide, and the virus has killed more than 3,500 people.

China today announced 28 new deaths from the virus, bringing the total death toll in the country to 3070, with an increase in the number of new cases outside Hubei Province, where the virus first appeared in December last year.

Concerns about the economic impact of the virus have increased in China, with the authorities announcing today that the country's exports in January and February last year decreased by 17.2%. This raises concern about global growth, of which China is a major driver.

Outside China
Outside of China, 13 countries have closed their educational institutions and about 300 million students worldwide have been out of school for several weeks.

After China, the most affected countries are South Korea, Iran, Italy and France.

Iran announced today 21 new deaths from the virus and 1076 new cases of the disease during the past 24 hours, which raises the death toll to 145 deaths and 5,823 cases.

Iranian parliament death
The official Iranian news agency, IRNA, said today that among the deceased was a member of the Shura Council (parliament) Fatima Rahbar, 55, who is one of the conservatives who reached parliament in the last elections.

It is the second Iranian member of parliament to die from the virus, and one of seven Iranian officials who have died from the disease since its outbreak in mid-February in Iran.

Gulf countries
And Gulf states announced the registration of new cases and take further precautions to prevent the spread of the virus, as the Ministry of Health in the UAE said today that the total number of those infected increased from thirty to 45.

Kuwait announced the discovery of three new cases of the virus, bringing the total number of infections to 61, while Qatar discovered a new case, bringing the number of infected people to 12 as announced by the ministries of health of the two countries today, Saturday.

Saudi Arabia closes the borders

In Iraq, the authorities announced today a series of new measures to tackle the Corona virus, including the closure of government departments and religious shrines, and the suspension of train operations between Baghdad and southern cities.
