Yesterday, the Emirates Legal Council for Fatwa issued a fatwa regarding the provisions of collective worship performance with the spread of the "Covid-19" virus, in which it affirmed that all groups and segments of society should be legally required to fully comply with all health and regulatory instructions issued by the competent authorities in the state, in addition to Take all necessary measures to prevent the transmission and spread of the disease, and it is not permissible to legally violate them in any way.

He added that it is forbidden by Sharia for anyone who has this disease or is suspected of being infected with it in public places, or to go to the mosque to attend congregational prayer or Friday or Eid, and he must take all instructions, including: “washing hands with soap and water continuously”, so cleaning from Etiquette of Islam, as well as just making peace, avoiding shaking hands and hugs, and caring for etiquette of sneezing, by covering the nose and mouth with elbow or handkerchief.

The fatwa spoke about the necessary precautions to confront the virus, including the necessity of the suspect entering quarantine, and his commitment to the treatment decided by the health authorities in the state, so as not to contribute to transmitting the disease to others.

The Council stressed that it is authorized to not attend group and Friday prayer, Eid and Taraweeh for the elderly and the young, and those who suffer from symptoms of respiratory diseases and immune deficiency disease, to perform the prayer in their homes or whereabouts, and to pray the noon prayer, instead of Friday prayers.

With regard to the Hajj, Umrah and Prophetic Visitation, the fatwa stated that everyone must abide by the instructions issued by the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, based on its sovereign and legal responsibility to care for pilgrims, pilgrims and visitors, and a subsidy for them in preserving the health and safety of all.

The fatwa stressed that all authorities should legally cooperate with the competent authorities, and provide the necessary support to them - all within their jurisdiction - to limit the spread of the disease and eliminate it, and prevent the spread of rumors related to it, by limiting the collection of official information from the competent authorities, and missing the opportunity to Those who are trapped in the security and stability of the state through the rumors they spread.

The Council called on all Muslims to turn to God by supplication and frequent forgiveness, because seeking forgiveness increases the calamity and increases the strength, as in the Almighty’s saying is a story about Hud on our Prophet and upon him peace and blessings be upon him: (O my people, ask forgiveness of your Lord, then repent to Him, He sends heaven upon you in abundance and increases strength to your strength) Surah Hood, verse 52.

Help and assistance

The Emirates Council for Sharia Fatwa called on all parties and individuals to extend a helping hand and assistance, each within its competence, and not to take advantage of such cases, by raising prices, especially medical treatment.
