It is a research group from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, NTNU, who studied the minerals on the bottom.

Among other things, copper, zinc, gold and silver have emerged from the earth's interior through cracks in the earth's crust, Norwegian TV2 has reported.

However, it remains to analyze the findings more carefully before deciding whether and how to extract the minerals, and how it can be done without affecting the marine environment too much.

A rough estimate from the research group at NTNU indicates that the minerals may be worth around SEK 1050 billion.
