French President Emmanuel Macron sent a message to the British after their country left the European Union, and wrote in a letter published yesterday, on Facebook, in English, that the British exit from the European Union "Brexit" is a slap for all Europeans. He added, "Dear British friends, you left the European Union, but you did not leave Europe."

Macron announced his intention to visit London next June, and confirmed that he would award the city of London with the French Legion of Honor.

Regarding the upcoming partnership between the European Union and Britain, Macron warned of "harmful competition" and said that access to the European Union market depends on the extent of adherence to the rules of the bloc.
